Making adjustments and rolling with it
It all comes to a head at the end of the year, it's a theme. Now I have a plan to adjust that for 2026
OH winter
Always a tough one for me, the cooler weather gets me while the grey clouds and wicked winds bring me peace and delight, so long as the trees stay upright!! We have had so many crisp calm days near the water and so many big wind big wave days…these are the joys of living on the West Coast in the winter.
I have found myself the last few years, having a project to work on right until the end of the year and this year it finally hit me like a great big lightbulb, I can’t do it! The holiday season, an off grid home and family obligations consume my mind and body, which gives its all for most of the year, and then all crashes right around the middle of December. All plans to bring a collection to the brink of completion before Christmas, went out the window this year! So next year, my schedule is only going to be planned until Dec 10th, I have decided. And I’ll hold myself to it.
So here I am, working out my regular schedule with my artist community, Rise and Repaint, and my studio looking forward to bringing this body of work to near completion in the next ten days. Wish me luck! Near completion means the painting itself is all sorted and drying, the final deets for varnish and hanging come later. I’ll have to take a two week break at the end of January beginning of February to leave the country and help my Hubs with an assist.
Once I am back, it will be hair straight back to complete the final 5% of this new body of work and be exhibition ready for March 8th when I will pack up all of my paintings to take off island and across a ferry!
